"... in the great chess-board of human society, every single piece has a principle of motion of its own..." - The Theory of Moral Sentiments
Bureaucracy:
We now have dominant influence within the field of bureaucracy, having claimed it from the Ventrue in the chaos following the departure of Adam Wellington. Authority in this sphere falls to Salvatore.
Church:
We have dominant influence within the New York religious community. While we have yet to find any practical applications for this influence in Kindred politics, it is a useful tool for dealing with those mortals who hunt Kindred, as such kine generally gather and work through religious institutions.
Finance:
We now control a small, but sizable chunk of New York's financial influences, taken from the Ventrue after Wellington's departure. We have agreed to make no further incursions into New York's financial arena without Ventrue approval. As a result, further ventures in this field should be taken outside the bounds of New York City. Control of this field falls to Salvatore.
Health:
We have dominant influence within the New York City medical community, particularly its hospitals and blood labs. Other clans in this arena include the Malkavians, who focus on Bellevue Medical Center; the Giovanni, who have some influence in Staten Island; and the Ventrue, whose remaining medical influence is being administered by the Nosferatu, Nathan Dowling.
High Society:
We have a number of contacts among the city's more wealthy and famous residents, although our influence pales compares to the control exercised by the Clan Toreador and, to a lesser extent, Clan Ventrue. With the departure of Laurance Black and Adam Wellington, we expect to be able to expand further in this field.
Industry:
Our influence in the field of industry is small, but growing. Most of the city's industry influence, particularly computer influence, belongs to the Ventrue. Our influence in this field falls to Salvatore.
Legal:
Our influence within the city's legal system is presently limited to a few minor contacts. Most power here appears to be concentrated in the hands of the Ventrue, although with the departure of Adam Wellington, this influence may no longer be so tightly controlled as heretofore.
Media:
The media in New York City responds to the bidding of a single Toreador, one Toni Bentley. We have established a working relationship with her, allowing us some indirect influence in this field, but no direct control. It is unclear what control she retains with the return of her sire, Maxwell Astor, who formerly controlled this influence. If control has been transferred, this has not been made public.
Occult:
Our control over mortal occult activity in New York is as yet unchallenged. It is a small field, comprising but a few hundred individuals of note, a group small enough that each of us can become personally acquainted with each of its members. All Tremere in the city are advised to do this, to help maintain the integrity of our mastery of this sphere. Control of this influence remains with the Regent.
Police:
We have reclaimed our former network of police agents throughout New York City's Police Department. Currently we are the second strongest player in the police arena, second only to Prince Thomas Flynn. Our police network extends to northern New Jersey, although most such influence is in the hands of Solomon Alastor.
Politics:
Control of the political arena has been thoroughly disrupted by the departure of Laurance Black and Adam Wellington. Every clan has some influence here; the Ventrue and the Toreador having the broadest range of influence, while the Brujah have powerful local control over the Bronx and Staten Island. Our influence in the field remains small.
Street:
We have little influence among the people of the streets. This field of information holds more interest from the Nosferatu, Brujah and Gangrel. However, our Underworld ties grant us some measure of indirect influence within this sphere.
Transportation: New York City's transportation system has long been monopolized by some unknown party. As the former master of the city's transportation was a Gangrel, Warren Nillingsford, we suspect that this field remains in Gangrel hands. Nonetheless, we have made some inroads here, particularly within the field of shipping. Administration of transportation influence falls within the purview of Johan.
Underworld:
We control the Genovese and Bonanno crime families, through which we exert a great deal of influence over most underworld activity throughout New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Administration of transportation influence falls within the purview of Cesare Ignazio.
University: For some time, we have held a great deal of influence within New York City's educational system. This influence is currently being channeled into a handful of research projects, and we have sufficient resources here for any in the Clan to establish more such projects for the benefit of the Clan. Administration for university influence falls within the purview of Isaac Casaubon.
